To switch on a notification for your site, go to the Administration Cog > Notifications > Notifications.
Advice
- All inactive notifications are highlighted in red. Active notifications are in white.
- Active notifications will be available to all users across the site.
- To make sure you are activating the correct notification, we recommend crosschecking the notification name with the date field in your configuration. For example, there are multiple issue reminder notifications available, each linked to a different date field within the Issue control i.e. Absolute Resolution Date, Due Date etc. Use your configuration export file to confirm which of the date fields you want to set a reminder against. Note: You should compare the notification name (date field) against the ‘Original Field Name’ in your export, not your own frontend description. See How to export the site configuration into a spreadsheet for more information.
Locate the notification you want to activate and click on the ‘Edit’ button.

To activate the notification, tick the Active checkbox. If required, you can review and edit the text in the notification message subject and body fields.
Finally, review and if required, amend the first and second reminder options. Note: the default reminders are one week before an item is due and then one day before.

Top Tips
- The ‘Filters’ and ‘Recipients’ of the notification are read only in this pop-up. See How to apply notification filters and recipients for details on how these can be changed.
