What is hourly resource management?

Resource management is the practice of planning, scheduling, and allocating people to a project. It helps to oversee the use of resources available to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness.

This module is based on the hourly allocation of a project resource, between a defined start and end date and includes the ability to:

  • Track user availability & skills sets
  • Request for and assign resources to specific projects
  • View resource utilisation
  • Forecast project resource costs. Note: this is separate from timesheets which focuses on actual resource costs.

There are 2 key Verto roles involved in hourly resourcing:

  1. Resource Requestor - Any member of the project team with Edit permissions can raise and submit a resource request.
  2. Resource Administrator - This is a super user role which has an holistic view of all resource requests. This user type has the ability to either create new resource requests or progress existing ones on-behalf of a requester. This permission is assigned at the User Profile level.
