Resource requests are dealt with at the individual project level. Any user assigned an edit project role can request resource for the project(s) they are involved in. Note: resource requests can also be generated via the Resource Tab on the top navigation bar by a Resource Manager, Tag Manager or Resource Administrator.
From within a project, click on the Resourcing icon in the left sidebar. To add a new request, click on 'Add'.
A new form will be displayed. It is here that details can be entered regarding when the resource is needed (in months) and the preferred person/skill set.
General Information section
- Start Date - The start date is set as a month and enables you to select from the current month forward.
- End Date - The end date is set as a month and enables you to select from the current month forward.
- Preferred User(s) – start typing the user’s name and select as needed. Note: this option will only be visible if an organisation chart has been set-up. See How to set-up an organisation chart for more information.
- User Tag(s) - select the preferred user skill set from the tags. Note: this option will only be visible if User Tags have been set-up. See User Tags (skill sets) for more information.
- Reason for Request - Populate with information as to why the request has been raised, this gives the receiver supporting information.
Requirements Section
Enter in the hours required. Note: Not all lines need to be completed.
Once completed, to submit the request click Actions> Submit.
Upon Actions > Submit, the resource request will move to a ‘submitted’ status and will become locked to the requester. A notification will be sent to the appropriate person - Resource Administrator, Resource Manager or Tag Manager.
